Dr. Massingale has worked as an instructor and research scientist at Tuskegee and Auburn Universities and is currently employed as a Molecular Diagnostic Specialist for the Alabama Department of Public Health State Clinical Laboratory.
Dr. Massingale achievements are undergirthed by a strong faith in God and support from her family. Her responsibilities to her family are the most important to her. She has been married for 26 years to Rev. Herman L. Massingale and have two children, Shermetria Danielle (Senior at UAB) and Sherman Brandon (Junior at St. Jude Educational Institute). She also believes in serving within her church and community and demonstrates that by active involvement. She serves wherever she is needed at the churches where her husband pastors within the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church System. Being a connectional church, she has been elected to various positions of service at the local and regional levels. She also holds memberships in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorported and The Links Incorporated and have held several leadership positions in each.
