THE CONCEPT
Join the local chapter of the 100 Black Men of America Inc., Clearchannel Radio, BlackAL.com and MOCA Magazine as we present the 2nd Annual River Region Expo, a weekend dedicated to empowering your family and our community.  The highlight of the weekend will be the 2008 River Region Expo on Saturday September 13, 2008 from noon until 8pm on the campus of Alabama State University inside the ASU Acadome.  The Expo will feature an African-American Artist Exhibit, Exhibitor Spaces where area merchants and the events underwriters will have the opportunity to display, sell, and promote their products and services to the thousands that will attend. In all, attendants of the 2nd Annual River Region Expo will have access to incredible opportunities with hundreds of professionals, representing hundreds of products and services.  They will also have the  opportunity to meet our cities political and elected officials, explore local churches, get info on joining civic, social and service organizations, meet companies that offer educational, well-ness and health services, while being entertained by national and local creative professionals and celebrities.  Most importantly, they will have an opportunity to embrace the essentials of family and community togetherness during this weekend Expo that is design to bring the River Region together. The Expo was created to introduce the city of Montgomery to The Montgomery Cares Initiative, part of the National Cares Movement.   The National CARES Mentoring Movement (NCMM) is a call to commitment and a call to action to the Black community to mentor the vulnerable youngsters in their communities and those already in peril. We are a fast-growing coalition of some of the nation's most trusted organizations and leaders.  Together, we are working in local CARES Recruitment Circles to enlist one million mentors across the U.S. to offer support and opportunity to the most vulnerable population: underserved Black youngsters
